I am a 61 year old woman on SSI I am very disabled just my back alone has 4, herniated discs, sciatica deterioration of the bones in my back, and arthritis. I was beaten and robbed October 20th 2024 I have serious injuries a broken left hand with nerve damage, three chipped teeth in the front, my L eye, my L knee,All of my ten toes are tingling and they feel numb (like if your foot goes to sleep.) the doctor prescribed the cane which I was using however my injuries are severe and he prescribed a walker which I just received less than 2 weeks ago I used it once super bowl Sunday is my belief that the landlord where I live did himself had his son or Fred or Emily in apartment 2 that live here across the hall from me unscrew the left brake of the Walker. I’m in fear of my life here I’m scared I never realized how scared I really could be, but I am scared senseless I have PTSD and it’s in full swing then I terrors are awful, I have disassociative amnesia as well from childhood trauma I’ve been trying to act brave to let them think I’m not afraid however I think I’ve failed at that. My landlord has been harassing me since November 11th or 12 of 2024 it has been Non-Stop harassment. Even though I am grateful that the cost of living raise I received was $24! The food stamp program took away some of my food stamps so you see I gained approx. $7.00 COL raise! I cannot nor anyone else live on that extremely low income per month even though I have section 8 housing which my landlord is trying to take away from me if I don’t get out of here by February 28th 2025. I’ve been here in this apartment for over 14 years . I don’t believe anyone not one person in this country can survive unless in a thousand dollars a month with the help of the government in housing with the help of the government with food stamps.
Even with those programs help that I have to go to and beg for help and humiliate myself every time I have to ask for financial help from my government I cannot survive I cannot own a vehicle and pay for insurance to get to all my doctor’s appointments and specialist appointments or go to the grocery store I can barely walk at this time. I cannot survive with less then $1,000 a month! Social security $998.75.
    Thank you
    Respectfully,
    Rosalie M. Ippolito
